Cateo / Frequently asked questions

Questions worth asking about football models.

Clear explanations of what the Cateo preview shows, which numbers are fictional, and what must be verified before real predictions can be published.

Does Cateo publish live soccer predictions?

No. Cateo currently displays a fixed SportMonks fixture snapshot, not a live score feed. Model A/B forecasts, odds and betting picks are not published. Educational calculations may use clearly labeled hypothetical assumptions.

What is expected goals (xG)?

Expected goals is a statistical estimate of scoring likelihood. Cateo's preview uses explicitly hypothetical goal-rate inputs; these are not measured xG for real teams.

What does BTTS mean?

BTTS means both teams to score. The demo compares hypothetical probabilities from two modeling approaches without suggesting a real wager.

Why show two models?

Different assumptions can produce different scoreline, goal-total and BTTS estimates. Side-by-side comparisons help readers inspect where the assumptions agree or disagree.

How will Cateo evaluate model accuracy?

The planned research workflow records forecasts before kickoff and measures accuracy after verified results using calibration, Brier score and log loss. A live track record has not been published.

Which competitions does Cateo plan to research?

The roadmap includes Liga MX, MLS, European domestic competitions and continental tournaments, subject to data rights, coverage and publication review. The currently public real-data surface is one fixed SportMonks fixture snapshot, not a worldwide live feed.

The site currently displays fictional fixtures and illustrative model output. No live bookmaker prices or verified model picks are offered.
